This session explores the powerful intersection of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), inclusive practices, and data privacy considerations in AI-enhanced educational environments. Drawing from Peninsula School District's experience implementing AI through an inclusivity lens, we'll demonstrate how these technologies can provide multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression—the core principles of UDL—while prioritizing accessibility and student privacy.


Participants will discover how AI can catalyze fostering inclusion and autonomous learning when thoughtfully integrated with UDL principles. We'll address critical ethical considerations surrounding AI implementation, including bias awareness and data privacy protections that ensure equitable access for all learners. The presentation will offer frameworks for evaluating AI tools through an inclusivity lens and developing ethical guidelines that center student agency while maintaining high standards.
