About me
Brian Baker is a proud advocate, educator, husband, and dog papa. In his 18 years working as an educator, first in Silicon Valley and later in Oregon, he has had the privilege of serving as a teacher, labor leader, curriculum designer & consultant for several edtech developers, instructional coach, TOSA, various other instructional leadership roles, education administrator, and now the Digital Learning Education Specialist for the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). In that role, he supports Oregon schools’ efforts to close the Three Digital Divides, combining his expertise in integrating educational technology with a passion for enhancing equity, digital literacy, and media literacy throughout education. This has afforded Brian opportunities to focus deeply on genAI in education, leading ODE’s efforts to create guidance, support, and a long-term vision for how to leverage this technology safely and ethically. Additionally, he has contributed to national and international projects led by SETDA, CoSN, TeachAI, and was recently chosen as an EDSAFE AI Alliance Catalyst Fellow. He currently resides in Corvallis, Oregon.
